Economy Creates Surge in Homelessness
My Reactions:
The number of homeless families in Massachusetts has been increasing quickly and massively since last year because of the sour economy, rising energy cost, escalating unemployment and shortage of affordable hosing. The state’s shelter capacity is not sufficient for the homeless families and therefore they will be placed in motels. To help the families move into permanently home quickly, the expert said the state should focus on creating more housing vouchers.

There are more and more families will loss their house because the economic crisis that began in the United States will affect everyone, everywhere in the world .It is really a huge impact. People without a settle home will lead to social problems, especially for the kids. If the children cannot go to school and receive the education regularly, when they grow up, it is difficult for them to get away from poverty and they might have mental health issues, e.g. lack of confidence. Since many parents cannot able to care for their children’s emotion needs during these hard times, the government should supply some policies for them. Providing a shelter for temporary living is very important, because it can keep family together and keep the kids in school. It is also necessary that the school teachers should give mental support for the homeless kids.

Economic downturn has become a worldwide problem, therefore, improving the economic condition is the first priority for most of the authorities. I think we should stay in a simple life before the condition changed.
